Since Alpha Xi Delta’s change of philanthropy in April 2009, the Delta Chapter has been ecstatic to plan events for its philanthropy, Autism Speaks.
Chapters throughout the country work hard all throughout the year raising money to go towards Autism Speaks. Our chapter hosts an all campus talent show in the fall with many bake sales as well. In the spring, we host Band Together Day on April 2nd. We also work hard to light up multiple buildings throughout campus blue for the Light It Up Blue campaign that takes place on college campuses throughout the month of April, World Autism Months. The Delta Chapter ends the month with its annual Football FrenXI flag football tournament. This past spring, our goal for the semester was $1,430, and we raised over $1,500. During the summer, we partner with a local motorcycle group and host a poker run to raise money for Autism Speaks. Last summer we raised over $1,300 from the poker run. In April, we hosted our annual Football FrenXI. The Delta Chapter joins members of the Bethany football team and Greek Life community to create a day of football fun. We had six teams) play against each other in a bracket style tournament. All proceeds went to Autism Speaks. With this event, we were able to raise almost $900!
All in all, we had a great year in terms of our Philanthropy work. But it doesn't stop here. We are constantly thriving and determined to be better than we were before. Join us on our adventure to make this next year even better!
